DreamWorks Theater Opening June 15, 2018 at Universal Studios Hollywood with "Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor's Quest"

Universal Studios Hollywood has confirmed new details and an official opening date for their new DreamWorks Theater. Starting on June 15, 2018, park guests will be able to enjoy the attraction and experience its inaugural show: "Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor's Quest". This short film, inspired by the popular DreamWorks movie franchise, will take visitors on a journey with the Dragon Warrior Po. The plot will center around a wild and perilous mission to deliver the rare and precious Liquid of Limitless Power to the Palace, which will include an exciting adventure filled with raging rapids, river pirates, awesome magic and Kung Fu.

DreamWorks Animation and the in-house crew at Universal Creative worked together to create this new, technologically-advanced attraction. Interior projection mapping inside the theater, powered by seven Christie 4K Boxer Cinema Projectors, will help immerse guests in 180 degrees of action. Accompanying physical effects (water, wind, etc.), swiveling seats, and 360 degrees of surround sound will round out this sensory experience. An original score by Germaine Franco will also be synchronized to all the action on-screen throughout the show.
